Jon Chapman

Jon Chapman is Chief Executive Officer of PlayVS, the leading amateur esports platform and the foundational technology behind officially sanctioned scholastic leagues in North America. As CEO, Jon is focused on scaling PlayVS while expanding its relationships with educators, so that students everywhere can experience the competition, community and inclusivity of esports.

Jon’s career is rooted in service to others, and he brings a wealth of experience in the education and technology sectors. He previously co-founded edtech company EVERFI, where he was the driving force behind its success for 15+ years, culminating in a $750M acquisition by Blackbaud in 2021. During that span, Jon served in almost every c-suite role, most recently as President leading the company’s Enterprise and International business; and previously as Head of Product Development; COO; and CFO. He also led the company’s expansion into the United Kingdom through the acquisition of EdComs in 2019. He was a member of the EVERFI Board of Directors from 2010-2021.

Jon has worked in the education technology space for more than 27 years, having started his career with Kaplan, Inc. He earned his MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, and his undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College. He is based in Washington D.C.
