Charles Johnson
Charles Johnson has dedicated his life to advancing safe, equitable maternal health outcomes in America, driven by the tragic loss of his wife, Kira, after childbirth in 2016. He founded 4Kira4Moms to honor her memory, advocating for policy changes that address the maternal mortality crisis and support for families affected by it. Through 4Kira4Moms, Charles campaigns for improved healthcare policies, educates on maternal mortality, and provides community support. He has testified before Congress, helped pass critical maternal health legislation, and is actively working to expand postpartum Medicaid coverage. Charles has been honored by Oprah Winfrey and serves on the boards of March for Moms and the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame.
