Sally Lehrman

An internationally recognized writer and speaker on trust and news, Lehrman was awarded a Gold Globee Award as Female Achiever/Communicator of the Year (2023) for her work founding and leading the Trust Project and also named one of MediaShift's Top 20 Digital Innovators (2018). A journalist on medicine, science and business, her honors include a Peabody Award, duPont-Columbia and the John S. Knight Fellowship. Her book, “News in a New America,” argues for an inclusive U.S. news media, and her co-edited “Reporting Inequality: Tools and Methods for Covering Race and Ethnicity,” was published in 2018. She is Science and Justice Professor at the UC-Santa Cruz Center for Science and Justice.
