Andrew Miller
Passionate about democratising culture and transforming perceptions throughout his 35 year career in the creative industries, Andrew is recognised as one of the UK’s most influential disability advocates with extensive experience of the arts, film and tv sectors.
Starting out in broadcasting Andrew belongs to the first pioneering generation of disabled presenters on British television after which he went on to produce and direct tv arts documentaries.
Later becoming the first wheelchair-user to run a major UK arts venue at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, he also established the role of UK Government Disability Champion for Culture and was founding chair of the influential British Film Institute Disability Screen Advisory Group.
In response to the global pandemic he co-founded the UK Disability Arts Alliance #WeShallNotBeRemoved, co-authoring the Seven Inclusive Principles that helped shape the British cultural recovery.
Andrew's current portfolio of roles includes: UK Arts Access Champion for All In - the new national arts access scheme for disabled audiences in the UK and Ireland. He is Chair of Council for the Creative Industries Independent Standards Authority (CIISA) and is a member of the National Council of Arts Council England and the Museums Disability Strategic Network; he is a trustee of both the Royal Shakespeare Company and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts - where he chairs Young BAFTA and led the campaign to introduce Children's and Family categories at the BAFTA Film & Television Awards 2025.
