Rakeda Ervin
Rakeda L. Ervin is a seasoned filmmaker with over twenty years of experience in writing and producing broadcast television and digital content. She holds a BA in Mass Communications from Quinnipiac University. Currently, she is the Director of Community Education at the Austin Film Society (AFS), where she oversees training programs, including the AFS Creative Careers initiative. This workforce development program provides hands-on experience and training to emerging creators in the local media production industry.
Before joining AFS, Rakeda produced award-winning series for NBC Universal, Paramount, and A&E networks. Her extensive background and leadership in educational initiatives support and nurture new talent, offering crucial industry insights to emerging filmmakers.
