Summer Yue

Summer Yue is Scale AI’s Director of Safety and Standards and serves as AI Chief of Staff to founder and CEO, Alexandr Wang. In this role, she manages several GenAI ML teams focused on auto evaluations, synthetic data and post-training data research. She leads Scale’s Safety, Evaluations, and Analysis Lab, tackling tough research problems in evaluation and red teaming. Recently, they released a trust & safety focused Leaderboard, ranking the top LLMs on prompts that trigger harmful responses. Summer has driven partnerships with major AI labs to standardize best practices for frontier models, including collaborating with the Center for AI Safety (CAIS) on the WMDP: the Weapons of Mass Destruction Proxy safety benchmark for LLMs. Before Scale, she led research for Bard at Google DeepMind.
