Lisa Kewley

Kewley obtained her PhD in 2002 from the Australian National University, focusing on star-formation and supermassive black holes. She was a Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics Fellow and a NASA Hubble Fellow. Her accolades include the Annie Jump Cannon Award (2006), Newton Lacy Pierce Prize (2008), and James Craig Watson Medal (2020). Elected to the Australian Academy of Science in 2014, she received an ARC Laureate Fellowship in 2015. From 2017-2022, she directed the ASTRO 3D Centre of Excellence. In July 2022, she became Director of the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian, spearheading initiatives in telescopes, data handling, diversity, and education.
