Chris Meyer
Dr. Chris Meyer is a Research Zoologist and Curator of marine invertebrates at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History. He leads the new Ocean DNA Program as a key initiative in the Ocean Science Center and is co-chair of the US National Aquatic eDNA Strategy. Chris’s research focuses on using sequence-based approaches to better document and understand the patterns and processes that create and sustain biodiversity. He uses molecular data and methods to test hypothesis concerning the tempo and mode of diversification, the structure and partitioning of ecosystems, the assembly and maintenance of communities, and methods to implement effective monitoring tools for healthy ecosystems.
