William Roper
After completing his Foundation Physics degree, William Roper went on to complete an MPhys in Astrophysics also at the University of Sussex. During the course of his degree, he took any opportunity to undertake research, first being awarded Junior Research Associate funding (JRA) between my second and third years. With this funding, he worked with Dr Stephen Wilkins using data from the BlueTides simulation to simulate observations of galaxies at high redshift with the Webb Space Telescope. He is now a Research Student at the University of Sussex working under Prof Peter Thomas and Dr Stephen Wilkins on FLARES (the First Light And Reionisation Epoch Simulations), a suite of cosmological hydrodynamical zoom simulations aiming to probe galaxy formation and evolution in the FLARE.
