Aoi Nakamura

Aoi, a Japanese performer, an award-winning choreographer, and Co-Artistic Director of AΦE, began her career in 2006 in German state theatres. She later danced with UK companies like Jasmin Vardimon and Punchdrunk. She founded AΦE with Esteban Lecoq in 2016. Based between the UK and France, AΦE pioneers Virtual and Augmented Reality in dance, touring internationally to 15 countries and 60+ venues. They've engaged over 21,000 live audiences worldwide. In 2021, AΦE became associate artists of iCCi at the University of Kent and launched A+E Lab, reaching 51,000 participants in Kent. Their latest work, LILITH.AEON, an AI-driven XR dance production, premieres in October 2024.
