Susan Shah

Susan Shah was named WBU’s inaugural Executive Director in February 2024. With a career dedicated to advocating for equality and justice, Susan is an accomplished lawyer, public health professional, and policymaker. She most recently served as the inaugural Managing Director for the Racial Justice initiative at Trinity Church Wall Street Philanthropies, overseeing a $10M+ initiative focused on ending mass incarceration and promoting safe communities. Prior to Trinity, she was Director of Programs and Strategy at the Vera Institute of Justice, where she led efforts in policing reform, immigration policy, and justice access for marginalized communities. Susan also has experience in federally-funded immigrant health programs, immigration law, and has taught at John Jay College.
