Darren Cox

Darren Cox is a British businessman and motorsport executive known for creating the GT Academy. Born in Newmarket, Suffolk, he graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London. Cox began his career at Renault before moving to Nissan, where he became Global Head of Motorsport. At Nissan, he launched the GT Academy in 2008, transforming gamers into professional drivers, and producing talents like Jann Mardenborough and Lucas Ordóñez. After leaving Nissan in 2015, he founded the esports racing team eSPORTS+CARS. Cox is the co-founder and CEO of The Race Media, a prominent digital media company specialized in motorsports, as well as DCC+Co, a consultancy business specialized in racing.
