Chris Rudd

Chris Rudd is an influential anti-racist designer and community organizer based in Chicago, known for his work in social equity, systems change, and youth development. He is the founder of ChiByDesign, a Black-owned and people-of-color-led social and civic design firm. ChiByDesign practices anti-racist design to address complex social issues and create equitable futures for marginalized communities​. Rudd's career includes significant contributions to community-driven design, particularly through his role as a former Clinical Professor of Practice at IIT’s Institute of Design. His practice focuses on designing anti-racist infrastructures and interventions to address systemic racism​. Notably, he was recognized as a 2021 "Researcher to Know" by the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition
