Carmela Wilkins
Carmela is a first-generation queer Liberian-Sierra Leonean American whose work lies at the intersection of data equity, human sensory research, food justice, and Anthropocene as colonial discourse. With a background in graphic design and creative strategy, she has recently expanded her skill set to include SQL, Python, and Tableau as a data visualist. Carmela's innovative research explores how climate and food justice design interventions can benefit from data on gustatory and olfactory inequities in Black and Brown frontline communities. Her interdisciplinary approach and commitment to ongoing learning exemplify her dedication to creating positive change in the world through her unique perspective and skillset.
