Leila Darwish
Leila Darwish is a community organizer, author, bioremediation ecologist, and disaster recovery specialist with a deep commitment to providing accessible and regenerative tools for communities to heal the toxic contamination of their lands and waters. For over a decade, she has taught bioremediation courses and consulted on remediation projects in North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Leila is the author of “Earth Repair: A Grassroots Guide to Healing Toxic and Damaged Landscapes” (New Society Publishers). Passionate about climate justice and resilience, she works in the field of disaster response and recovery for governments and nonprofits in the USA and Canada, supporting communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis through hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and extreme heat.
