Joseph Aebersold

Joseph Aebersold is the project lead for Advanced Imaging and Visualization of Astromaterials (AIVA) at Johnson Space Center. Aebersold’s primary focus is reality capture, creating digital 3D models of real world subjects, using imaging techniques such as structure from motion (SFM) and convergent photogrammetry, and structured light, laser, and LIDAR scanning. He has supported projects for the International Space Station, NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations (NEEMO), Orbital Debris Program Office, Artemis, OSIRIS-REx, and Astromaterials 3D.
