Neil McArthur
Neil McArthur, PhD, is Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Centre for Professional and Applied Ethics at the University of Manitoba. His research focuses on AI and robot companions, and their impact on individuals and society. He coined the term “digisexuality” to refer to a new sexual identity based on intimate relationships with advanced technologies. He has published numerous books and articles, including Robot Sex: Social and Ethical Implications (MIT Press, 2017) and The Ethics of Sex (Routledge, 2023). His work has appeared in media outlets including Fast Company, The Guardian, and the Globe and Mail, and he was a regular contributor to VICE. His work has been covered by Harper's Magazine and he was named by Maclean's Magazine as one of Canada's leading thinkers on AI.
