Jessica Szczuka
Jessica Szczuka, PhD, leads the INTITEC research group (Intimacy with and through Technology) at the University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany) in the Department of Social Psychology: Media and Communication. Her research explores how digitalization influences the experience and concept of love and sexuality, focusing on interactions with artificial entities like chatbots, conversational agents, and voice assistants. Dr. Szczuka also studies intimate interpersonal interactions facilitated by new media. She holds an interdisciplinary degree in psychology and computer science, and earned her doctorate with a dissertation on the social perception of sexually-related humanoid robots.
