Robert Bonta

Rob Bonta is the 34th Attorney General of California and the 1st person of Filipino descent and the 2nd Asian American to hold the position. AG Bonta's passion for justice was instilled in him by his parents, who served on the frontlines of some of America's most important social justice movements. As the People's Attorney, AG Bonta sees the most important function of his job as seeking accountability from those who abuse their power and harm others. In the State Assembly (2012-2021), he enacted nation-leading reforms to inject more fairness and equity into government and institutions. Prior to serving in the Assembly, AG Bonta worked as a Deputy City Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco. Born in the Philippines, AG Bonta immigrated to California as an infant.
