Nick Anthony
Nick Anthony is a policy analyst at the Cato Institute’s Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives and a fellow at the Human Rights Foundation. His work spans the fields of monetary and financial economics and the use of money in society, with a keen focus on digital assets. Anthony often compares and contrasts Bitcoin and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and their differing impact on financial privacy and human rights. Anthony is the author of “Digital Currency or Digital Control? Decoding CBDC and the Future of Money” which lays out the sobering reality of CBDCs and their implications for civil liberties and financial freedom worldwide. Anthony has testified before Congress on CBDCs and maintains HRF’s CBDC Tracker which tracks the development of CBDCs globally.
