Joanna Popper

Joanna Popper is an innovation and growth leader at the intersection of media, entertainment, and technology. She has held executive roles at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), HP, NBCUniversal, and Singularity University, leading forward-thinking initiatives that shape the future of immersive experiences, AI-driven storytelling, and emerging media platforms.

As an Executive Producer, Joanna has spearheaded award-winning immersive projects that have premiered at major festivals, including SXSW, Tribeca, and Venice. Her productions include Finding Pandora X (Golden Lion for Best Immersive Experience at Venice, SXSW Best Virtual Cinema Award), Breonna’s Garden (recognized for social impact by the Producers Guild of America Innovation Awards, Unity, and Auggie Awards), Fight Back (Audience Award at Venice), and Master of Light. Her recent AI filmmaking projects, Project 2029 and Tormented, have received awards at the Berlin Indie Film Festival and CineTech Future Fest.

Joanna has been recognized as one of the “25 Pioneers in the Metaverse,” “50 Women Can Change the World in Media and Entertainment,” “XR Hall of Fame” and “50 Women to Watch for Boards.” She serves on several boards and advisory committees, including the Producers Guild of America National Board of Directors (where she is Innovation Chair), the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Emerging Media Executive Committee, and the Filmgate Interactive Board of Directors.
