Beyond Human-Centered: A New Experience Design Framework
Human-Centered Design (HCD) falls short in an era of AI, XR, and autonomous agents. Experience design, both IRL and URL, is inherently participatory, yet established hierarchies enforce power, with chatbots often deemed more "useful" than "median humans". Drawing from Posthumanism and lived experience, I’ll challenge conventional HCD principles and present a framework that de-centers the human, addresses the "enshitification" of tech and society and offers a more inclusive, sustainable design approach that considers all "things" to reshape design thinking for a more interconnected future.
