2025 SXSW Community Service Awards

Mar 10, 2025

6:00pm – 8:00pm CT

The SXSW Community Service Awards celebrate leaders and non-profit organizations from Austin and beyond who work tirelessly to improve the standing of the specific groups and causes that they serve.

This program was launched to honor the memory of SXSW Interactive co-founder Dewey Winburne and remains true to the vision that grassroots community activism is the most essential building block for progressive change on a much larger societal level.

This year, SXSW is humbled to highlight five recipients working tirelessly on missions much greater than themselves. With our Community Service Award, we honor Sav Rodgers (Transgender Film Center), Michael Gonzalez (Rural Schools Innovation Zone ), Nicole Klepadlo (The Red River Cultural District), Matthew Long ([C]worthy.org), and Anne Filipic (No Kid Hungry).

The SXSW Community Service Awards occur within the SXSW Innovation Awards at 6:30 pm on Monday, March 10 in Ballroom D on the top floor of the Austin Convention Center. The SXSW Innovation Awards Ceremony also includes the Hall of Fame induction for Mark Cuban.

On Monday, March 10, doors open for the SXSW Innovation Awards at 6 pm for drinks and light snacks.
