Born in Uji, Kyoto, and now based in Tokyo, luvis is an artist who seamlessly handles every aspect of their music, from songwriting and composing to arranging and track-making. Their artistry is rooted in a desire to connect the primal, pre-verbal emotions passed down through generations to those living in the present and even to future generations.
Drawing inspiration from jazz, soul, alternative rock, folk, and the wonders of nature, luvis creates organic soundscapes paired with a uniquely expressive voice. Their name, "luvis," stems from the phrase "luv (love) is," embodying their lifelong exploration and expression of what it means to love.
Following luvis's performance at SXSW in 2024, they made an appearance on NPR's "World Cafe".
