Singer/songwriter, actress, author, playwright, screenwriter. Any of these could be used to describe Taiwanese songstress Enno Cheng, and yet as is the case with labelling any enigmatic performer or channeler of the creative flow, mere words would fall far short of the ungraspable truth—the search for which charts the course of her artistic journey.

Mercury Retrograde marks Enno’s new body of work in 2022 which is written in Taiwanese and collaborated with producer Chunho. They folds multiple influences– electronic, rock with foundation of folklore into an innovative genre of Taiwanese Hokkien song which has been widely appreciated and picked up the Best Taiwanese Album and the Best Taiwanese Female Singer of The 34th Golden Melody Awards.

At the end of 2023, Enno embarked on her first solo overseas tour, reaching Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, and Canada. In each location, she continued to share the significance of language in creation through her works in Mandarin and Taiwanese. She is currently preparing her second all-Taiwanese-language album, set for release in 2025.
