Dr. Larry LaPointe

Dr. Larry LaPointe currently leads Quest Diagnostics R&D for data and AI initiatives with a focus on genomics and oncology. Prior to joining Quest Diagnostics, Dr. LaPointe was a co-founder and CEO of Clinical Genomics, a healthcare company that developed and marketed diagnostic tests for the early detection of cancer, including a “liquid biopsy” blood test for colorectal cancer based on detecting epigenetic changes in DNA methylation. Over the last two decades as a healthcare innovation leader, he has been awarded more than 20 global patents, has co-authored over 20 peer reviewed publications and more than 50 conference presentations. Dr. LaPointe has a PhD in Bioinformatics from Flinders University (Australia) where he applied machine learning to identify new biomarkers for cancer, after receiving his BSc from Florida State University.
