Henrietta Mann

Dr. Mann (Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma) is the founding president of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal College and first person to hold the Endowed Chair in Native American Studies at Montana State University. She also served as a Special Assistant to the MSU President from 2003-2016.

Honored as National American Indian Woman of the Year (1987) and named one of ten leading professors in the country by Rolling Stone magazine (1991), she is one of the most visible role models for Native scholars nationally. Her work has significantly impacted education policy and the development of tribal colleges.

Dr. Mann has lectured throughout the US and in Mexico, Canada, Germany, Italy, and New Zealand, and has been an interviewee/consultant for numerous TV shows and movies.
