Dr. Kevin Volpp
Kevin Volpp, MD, PhD is the Mark V. Pauly President's Distinguished Professor at the Perelman School of Medicine and the Wharton School and the Director of the Penn Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics (CHIBE) at the University of Pennsylvania. CHIBE was 1 of the first 2 NIH Centers of Excellence in Behavioral Economics and Health. Kevin is also the Scientific Leader of the American Heart Association's new Health Care x Food Initiative, a major new national effort to build evidence on intervention designs that are effective and cost effective in improving people's health through access to healthy and nutritious food. He has worked with dozens of public and private sector organizations testing behavioral economic interventions in settings in which they can readily be scaled and he has contributed to programs that have been used to improve health for tens of millions of Americans. He has published over 300 papers and is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine.
