Seth Shapiro

Two-time Emmy® Award winner Seth Shapiro is a global leader in media and technology. Mr. Shapiro was previously an Adjunct Professor at USC and a Governor of the Television Academy, the home of the Emmys. He is Chair of the web3 Advisory Council at the National Association of Broadcasters. His book, TELEVISION Vol. 1 Innovation, Disruption, and the World’s Most Powerful Medium, is an Amazon bestseller and covers the evolution of radio and television from 1890-1980.

A trained equity options trader, he was an early advocate of blockchain in media and has been active in the space since 2016. He is currently Partner at Alpha Transform Holdings as well as an Advisor to the Shiba Inu Foundation; he was previously Head of Business Development at Alphabit Fund; Head of Strategy at Videocoin/Vivid Labs; CEO of Alpha Networks (with IBM) in 2018; and founder of Artaku.

In the public sphere, Mr. Shapiro has served as an Expert before both the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission. As Head of Production at DIRECTV Advanced Services, he launched over 25 services, including TiVo by DIRECTV, the world’s first major DVR platform. Prior to joining DIRECTV, he was a Senior Games Producer at The Walt Disney Company.
