I can provide experienced mentorship and legal counsel concerning copyright ownership, registration, licensing, infringement, and assignment, as well as counsel regarding the right of publicity.

I help clients identify and protect their original works, assist in the selection and maintenance of a legal entity and business structure optimal to their goals, establish a suite of contracts for use with contractors, clients, and co-creators, and help clients generate revenue and/or visibility from their work. In addition to creators, I assist licensees, purchasers, and distributors of all forms of entertainment, sports, and informational content.

I am a member of the California and San Francisco Bar Associations, the American Bar Association Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries, the Intellectual Property Law Section of the California State Bar Association, and the Sports Lawyers Association. I am also a former chair of the board of trustees of the Headlands Center for the Arts, which provides residencies and workspace for emerging and mid-career artists in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in Marin County, California. I have taught intellectual property law at Golden Gate University School of Law, and I frequently speak at technology, multimedia, sports, entertainment, and legal industry conferences.
