Carl Effenson

Carl Effenson is an award-winning producer whose credits include Dee Rees’ Mudbound. The film was nominated for 4 history-making Academy Awards, was the recipient of the Humanitas Prize and Robert Altman Award at the 2018 Independent Spirit Awards in addition to being the Washington Post and LA Times' Best Picture of the Year.

Other credits include Hide Away, a Grand Jury prize winner at SXSW, directed by Chris Eyre (Smoke Signals) and starring Josh Lucas and James Cromwell. His sophomore feature Burying the Ex, was directed by Joe Dante (Gremlins) and premiered at the 2014 Venice Film Festival and starred Anton Yelchin, Ashley Greene, and Alexandra Daddario.

Most recently, his film Mending the Line starring SAG, BAFTA & Golden Globe winning actor Brian Cox was recently released worldwide by Sony Pictures September 2023. He is currently in post-production as an executive producer on Bob Trevino Likes It starring Euphoria breakout Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo, which is set to appear at the 2024 SXSW film festival.
