Dave Richards
Dave Richards is the Senior Vice President of Programming at Audacy. In this role, Richards oversees creative and innovation efforts for Audacy’s robust portfolio of broadcast, digital and live experience content. Prior to this role, Richards was Vice President of Programming for Audacy Seattle, Brand Manager of KISW and Format VP for Audacy Rock formats. Richards led the launch of successful radio innovations, like food, beer and other brand extensions, KNDD Seattle’s more music forward “2 Minute promise”, KISW’s theater on the radio “Live Day” and more.
Throughout his time with the company, Richards has spearheaded various corporate initiatives. He created “I’m Listening,” Audacy’s yearlong campaign committed to ending the stigma around talking about mental health and suicide prevention. The campaign, led by a yearly broadcast, also includes on-air and social media audio capsules and content such as weekly live shows and a dedicated website highlighting videos, information and resources.
In 2021, Richards led the launch of Audacy’s new offering of exclusive music stations, designed for fans by fans, ranging widely across various music genres, moods and activities, enabling users to discover new music driven by their interests, favorite artists and upcoming events. In 2023 Richards created and launched “Hip Hop Made”, Audacy’s yearlong celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop.
Before joining the company in 2000, Richards served as Vice President of Programming for WKQX and WRCX in Chicago.
Richards is a native of New York City and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982 from Temple University.
