Magdi Azer

Magdi Azer brings 20+ years of technical and business management experience focused on manufacturing technology development and deployment to his role as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the REMADE Institute. After initially working as a repair development engineer, he spent most of his career developing and transitioning technologies across the innovation pipeline at General Electric, focusing on the “valley of death.”

As CTO of REMADE, he oversees all technology development activities, including the annual technology roadmap update, developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and leading regular reviews for 80+ R&D projects. Since 2015, Dr. Azer has served as the Associate Director for Manufacturing Science at the Illinois Applied Research Institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
