Josh Madell

After spending his early years as a touring musician, Josh Madell co-founded the Other Music retail store in New York City in 1995. The shop was central to the budding local, national and global indie music scene of the '90s and early 2000s, helping support the early careers of many now iconic artists, highlighting great underground music from all eras and locale, and supporting a label and live events arm as well. After closing the shop in 2016, Madell landed at Secretly, where he leads the distribution company's A&R efforts. Since joining Secretly Distribution in 2018, Madell has helped the 25-year-old company more than double it's annual turnover, and cement it's position as one of the most important global digital and physical independent music distributors today.
