Caroline Desrosiers

Caroline Desrosiers is an accessibility advocate, speaker, writer, consultant, and founder of Scribely, a company on a mission to make images, videos, and podcasts accessible to all humans. Caroline launched Scribely in January 2020 to help organizations break down access barriers and deliver delightful content experiences that are inclusive for everyone. In 2021, Caroline joined the International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC) Photo Metadata Working Group and successfully led an initiative to add alt text and extended description metadata properties to the IPTC Photo Metadata Standard. This made it possible to embed accessible descriptions that travel wherever images go on the web. Caroline is also a member of the W3C Silver Alt Text Subgroup, collaborating with content accessibility professionals to improve WCAG resources and guidance for text alternatives. Caroline's work has been featured in prominent news outlets, including The New York Times, The Financial Times, and Fast Company.
