Lawon Exum
Lawon Exum is an entertainment industry veteran of over 30 years, with a passion to bring change to the entertainment industry, especially around mental health. He currently is the Entertainment and News Media Director at RespectAbility, a nonprofit organization fighting stigmas and advancing opportunities so people with disabilities can fully participate in all aspects of community.
Exum cut his teeth at XM Radio (now Sirius XM) producing for the XM Jazz station. Exum then worked at Sony Pictures Television across multiple departments including business affairs, marketing, and content creation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Exum received his dual Masters Degree in Communication Management and Specialization in Journalism (The Arts) at the University of Southern California and subsequently shifted careers again to work in news media as an Associate Producer for “Wake Up CBUS,” in Columbus, OH. While producing the show, he realized the importance of mental health throughout his career journey.
Exum is perhaps best known for his appearance as a houseguest on CBS’ “Big Brother” in Season 13. His fashion sense, personality, and popularity has since made him a fan favorite in the Reality TV world.
