Rony Abovitz
Rony Abovitz is the founder and CEO of Sun and Thunder (Film, Storyworlds) and SynthBee, Inc. (Deeptech AI), and is a Senior Advisor for the Boston Consulting Group. Rony is also the founder of the Spatial Computing/Augmented Reality company Magic Leap. Prior to that, Rony founded MAKO Surgical Corp., the world leader in haptic robotics for orthopedic surgery. MAKO was acquired by Stryker Corporation in 2013 for $1.65B. He has Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering degrees from the University of Miami. Rony was a two-time world Economic Forum Technology Pioneer and plays guitar and bass. He recently directed his first animated short film, "Yellow Dove Aftermath".
