Rachel Walker

Programmer, Publicist
Palm Springs ShortFest

Rachel Walker has worked in the film industry for 15+ years in programming, producing, publicity and industry liaising with organizations like Comic-Con (home away from home, happy to chat about the ins and outs!), Sundance Film Festival, Film Independent, and more, and is a member of both the Producers Guild and the Publicists Guild, in which she sits on the Unit Publicity council.
On the programming side, she served as festival director for the No Budget Film Festival for five years, guest programmed for LMU’s film department, was Head of Programming for the Drafthouse LA (long live CATS Rowdys) in the before-times, as well as a programmer for Alamo on Demand and virtual event producer for Fantastic Fest during the height of the pandemic. Currently, she is a Programmer for Palms Springs ShortFest and an Associate Programmer for the Sundance Film Festival, and sits on the Advisory Boards for the Overlook Film Festival and the Vidiots Foundation. In addition to programming work, Rachel has produced shorts and features that have played SXSW, Tribeca and AFI Fest among others. In her spare time, when not escaping a room, playing 191 hours of Balder’s Gate 3, learning a new board game, or attending a Traitors themed party, she can be found developing elaborate missions, writing secret codes, and hiding cell phones in birthday cakes with her experiential events company Interwoven Immersive.
