Nancy Whiteman
Heralded as “The Queen of Cannabis” by Forbes and “The Martha Stewart of Edibles” by Entrepreneur, Nancy Whiteman is co-founder and CEO of Wana Brands, a top international cannabis edibles brand available in more than 3,000 dispensaries across the United States and Canada. In October 2021, Canopy Growth Corp. announced it had purchased the option to acquire Wana Brands and is currently in the process of exercising the option through the creation of Canopy USA, a roll-up of their US assets. With proceeds from the deal, Nancy established The Wana Brands Foundation, an organization working to enhance the world by supporting a wide variety of nonprofits. Nancy has been the recipient of numerous industry awards, including Forbes 100 America’s Self-Made Women (June 2023), Forbes 50 Over 50 (August 2023), Forbes Most Influential People in Cannabis (2023 and 2022), Green Market Report’s Women–led Company (2023) and First Ever Women Leadership Award for Leading Brand (April 2022), Benzinga’s Brett Roper Award for Lifetime Achievement (Sept. 2022), the Cannadelic Miami Entheo awards for Social Impact and Cannabis Brand of the Year (Jan. 2023), High Times 100 (April 2022), and MJBiz’s First Ever Industry Impact Award (2019). She is a member of the US Cannabis Council, Colorado Cannabis Manufacturers Association, National Cannabis Industry Association, Colorado LEADS and Marijuana Policy Project. Prior to Wana, Nancy was a principal with The Whiteman Group, a sales and marketing consultancy, and previously held a range of senior-level marketing and business development positions, including Vice President, Marketing and New Corporate Ventures for the Paul Revere Insurance Group in Massachusetts. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
