Dana Cowin's work spans advising founders, coaching creative leaders and developing editorial through podcasts, social, video and zines. An award-winning influencer in the food world, she is a sought after speaker on topics from mentorship and motivation to resilience and entrepreneurship. Dana founded Speaking Broadly, an independent media company that features a podcast, zine and events series highlighting visionaries at the intersection of sustainability, food, humanity and our future.
Dana’s latest project is Progressive Hedonist, a resource and guide for gathering and eating in way that help heal the planet and ourselves.
For 21 years (1995–2016), Dana was the Editor in Chief of Food & Wine magazine. She transformed Food & Wine into a game-changing publication that showcased the lifestyle of chefs, winemakers, food artisans and more, celebrating discovery, innovation and deliciousness. Dana instilled this spirit in all aspects of the brand including print, digital, social, products and books.
Dana has a longstanding commitment to empowering people in marginalized communities through improving access to food and education. She's on the board of Food Education Fund and Hot Bread Kitchen, as well as the Food Council of City Harvest and God’s Love We Deliver.
