Can AI Solve the Extreme Weather Pandemic?
According to the UN, we are set to exhaust our carbon budget by 2030. We need transformational change to avoid a pandemic of extreme weather. We can manage and reverse these threats only with political will, global collaboration, and scientific breakthroughs on a scale not yet seen. Research published at scale, shared openly, and augmented by artificial intelligence will increase our chances of success. This panel will identify how AI shapes climate science, sustainable innovation, and the free sharing of information and will consider how or if it can help prevent extreme weather before it occurs.
