Starting a company is a perilous path, yet more and more people pick it. In the last decade, the number of successful exits of VC-backed companies has doubled. But the number of those who have tried (and failed!) has increased tenfold. I focus on investing into founders who have tried and failed valiantly, and who bring this hard-won expertise into a new venture. These repeat founders grow their companies twice as fast, and raise 50% more capital, then first-time founders. I believe there is a super cycle of repeat founders coming, and want to explore this paradigm with the SXSW audience.
