Dance is the only form of exercise shown to prevent neurodegenerative disease! After childhood, many of us stop dancing as we are socialized to believe we are not "good" at it or become self-critical. As a physician focused on mind-body health, I prescribe dance medicine to all of my patients and lead dance workshops designed to bring the joy, bliss, and health benefits of dance to all. We will learn the science behind why dance matters, and then we will engage in a playshop of free, joyful dance with music that enables participants to cultivate deep joy and connect with their bodies.
