The Art of Crossword Puzzles
Crossword puzzles are wildly popular. In the United States, 50 million people regularly attempt to solve crosswords, and the New York Times alone has over 1 million puzzle subscribers. But crosswords aren’t just a diversion—crosswords are an art form! Like other art forms, crosswords can be vessels for a creative vision, reflect their wider culture, and be the subject of vigorous criticism and debate. Featuring panelists who construct and solve crosswords and have expertise in crosswords as cultural objects, this panel will explore the Art of Crosswords.
