Couch Prints
Couch Prints is an electronic duo consisting of Jayanna Roberts and Brandon Tong. With their introspective lyrics, maximalist production, and innovative use of sampling and technology, Couch Prints has garnered critical acclaim and carved a distinct niche in New York’s indie music scene. With features in NYLON, Gorilla Vs Bear, and support from influential tastemaker David Dean Burkhart, the band's musical journey has been punctuated by their recent signing to New York’s Music Website.
Fueled by a passion for self-reflection and sonic experimentation, Couch Prints has crafted something both contemporary and timeless. Blending Youtube samples, voice memos, fuzzed guitars, and Robert’s hauntingly beautiful vocal tone, they generate music that defies traditional genre classification. It is this approach that has landed them features on Spotify's coveted playlists such as Bedroom Pop and Fresh Finds, as well as Apple Music's All New Indie and INDIY.
Drawing inspiration from a range of artists, Couch Prints pays homage to influential electronica bands such as Frou Frou, Sweet Trip, and The Knife. Groups who were experimental, yet also pop, groups who loved the digital and the analog.
