Kathy Blackwell

Kathy Blackwell edits and writes for Texas Monthly, the National Magazine of Texas celebrating its fiftieth anniversary in 2023. Before joining the magazine in 2017, she worked at newspapers, including the Austin American-Statesman and the Orlando Sentinel, and served as editor in chief of Austin Way magazine. She has also served as a lecturer at the University of Texas. Originally from South Carolina, she has lived in Austin since 2000 and serves on the board of American Short Fiction literary magazine. She's also the past chair of the Texas Film Awards.
