April Rivas is the Director of Omnichannel Marketing at Reata Pharmaceuticals and brings over 17 years of US and International biotech/pharmaceutical experience focused on digital marketing and social media. Prior to joining Reata, April was most recently an Associate Vice President of Media and Omnichannel Engagement at Precision Effect, a full-service marketing agency. Prior to the agency role, April worked at Bristol Myers Squibb, Celgene (in an expat role in the Central Eastern Europe region) and Juno Therapeutics where she worked on MCM activities for the CAR-T cell therapy franchise launch. Prior to Juno, April spent over 11 years at Amgen where she lead MCM marketing for launch brands, launched the social media platforms and strategy for Amgen, Inc. and worked on corporate branding campaigns; including the award-winning Biotechnology by Amgen and Manufacturing Matters campaigns. April is originally from Southern California where she attended California Lutheran University and graduated with an MBA focused in Marketing and is also pursuing a PhD. in Law and Policy. April is a self-proclaimed book nerd and has recently discovered her love of Stand-up Paddle Boarding.
