Josh Williams

In 2009 Josh and a small team of designers and technologists introduced Gowalla to the world at SXSW, helping inspire millions to “check in” on social media. Later he led the Pages, Location, and Events teams at Facebook, bringing location-sharing to over 250 million people. Today Gowalla is returning to SXSW with a renewed vision to make it fun and easy to keep up with friends in the real world.

Prior to Gowalla he founded Firewheel, a Texas-based digital and graphic design studio. Along the way he has helped design and create products and brands for Microsoft, OpenAI, Stripe, Squarespace, Samsung, and numerous other technology companies. Josh lives in Napa Valley with his wife and three children.
