McKay Featherstone

McKay Featherstone is Senior Vice President of Global Innovation at THOR Industries. Elkhart, IN-based THOR is the sole owner of operating companies that, combined, represent the world's largest RV manufacturer.

McKay joined THOR in 2022 from Airstream, one of THOR’s operating companies. He leads THOR’s business and product innovation activities from strategy to execution and has significantly accelerated work to create competitive advantages for the THOR family of companies. These initiatives include a customer-driven focus on eMobility, connected vehicles, advanced manufacturing, and new business models.

McKay has a passion for designing and delivering superior customer experiences. He led Airstream’s design organization and company leadership into the connected vehicle and IoT space, where he launched the first “Smart RV” focused on providing Airstream customers with the best travel experiences.

After earning a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University with Highest Distinction, McKay received his MBA from Indiana University at Indianapolis, where he was Valedictorian.

When not leading innovation work, McKay enjoys getting dressed up in a semi-ridiculous uniform to play Vintage Base Ball and volunteering in his community.
