Matt is a Texas lawyer that focuses his practice on commercial litigation, representing clients in IP, contract, and regulatory litigation and is recognized as an authority in issues relating to the federal Controlled Substance Act and cannabis regulation.

Matt has received national recognition for this work. In 2022, the American Lawyer named Matt a finalist for Young Lawyer of the Year (Litigation), and in 2020, the American Inns of Court named him a Pegasus Scholar. Best Lawyers in America has named Matt "One to Watch," and Thomson Reuters' Super Lawyers recognized him as a "Texas Rising Star" in IP Litigation, Cannabis Law, and Administrative Law.

Before joining Yetter Coleman, Matt served as a judicial clerk to the Hon. Rodney Gilstrap, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Texas during the 2016-17 term, spending hundreds of hours in court helping the busiest IP docket in the country.

Beyond his legal practice, Matt publishes essays in long and short form on his newsletter On Drugs (ondrugs.substack.com) and writes opinion columns for Lucid News.
